ACT! Software Release

Conductor Software (later Symantec, then Sage) released ACT! (Automated Contact Tracking), one of the earliest and most popular contact management systems for individual sales representatives.

Significance

ACT! marked a significant step beyond physical Rolodexes, digitizing contact information and scheduling, making sales reps more efficient and planting the seeds for Sales Force Automation.
