Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun) Established

Alibaba Group officially launched its cloud computing subsidiary, Aliyun, to support its rapidly growing internal operations and eventually offer services to external customers.

Significance

This event laid the foundational infrastructure, strategic vision, and talent pool necessary for the subsequent development and launch of all Alibaba Cloud services, including RDS.
