Alibaba Cloud (Aliyun) Foundation Laid

Alibaba Cloud, then known as Aliyun, was officially founded. This laid the fundamental cloud infrastructure (Apsara) upon which all subsequent services, including DataHub, would be built.

Significance

The creation of Alibaba Cloud provided the strategic platform and vision for developing scalable, distributed services to support Alibaba Group's vast operations and eventually, external customers.
