Apache Drill becomes Top-Level Project

Apache Drill, an open-source SQL query engine for Hadoop and other NoSQL datastores, became a Top-Level Project (TLP) under the Apache Software Foundation. Jacques Nadeau was a key contributor.

Significance

This project laid significant groundwork for Dremio's future query engine architecture, showcasing the potential for direct SQL querying on diverse data sources without prior ETL.
