AWS Lambda Public Launch

Amazon Web Services announced Lambda, its serverless compute service, at its annual re:Invent conference, introducing the FaaS model to the world.

Significance

This event pioneered the Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) paradigm, setting the benchmark and inspiring other cloud providers, including Alibaba Cloud, to develop their own serverless offerings.
