Bell Labs Stylator Demonstration

Tom L. Dimond demonstrated the Stylator, an electronic device capable of recognizing handwritten characters input via a stylus on a resistive tablet. It was a very early attempt at direct graphical input and character recognition.

Significance

One of the first known electronic devices for hand-drawing input, pioneering the concept of using a stylus for direct interaction.
