CoSA was founded by David Herbst, David Simons, and Daniel Wilk with the explicit goal of developing high-end post-production software for personal computers.

Significance

This laid the groundwork for the conceptualization and development of what would become After Effects, challenging the status quo of expensive, dedicated hardware.
