Initial Kubernetes SIG Storage discussions on externalizing storage

As Kubernetes matured and more stateful applications sought adoption, the limitations of in-tree volume plugins became glaringly obvious. The SIG Storage group began serious discussions on how to externalize storage interfaces to decouple vendor code from the Kubernetes core.

Significance

This marked the conceptual beginning of CSI, recognizing the fundamental architectural flaw in the existing storage integration model and initiating the search for a scalable, sustainable solution.
