Invention of JavaScript

Brendan Eich, then at Netscape, created JavaScript (originally LiveScript) in just 10 days to make web pages more dynamic. It was designed as a lightweight scripting language to complement Java.

Significance

Laid the foundational language for all client-side web development and, consequently, for all future JavaScript frameworks.
