Kubernetes 1.0 Release

Google open-sourced Kubernetes, laying the foundational technology for declarative container orchestration that GitOps would later leverage.

Significance

Kubernetes's declarative nature and API-driven control plane were essential prerequisites for GitOps. Without Kubernetes, the core reconciliation loop concept of GitOps would not have found its powerful target.
