Logstash Forwarder (LSF) Gains Traction

Logstash Forwarder, an earlier lightweight log shipper written in Go, was developed to address the resource overhead of running full Logstash agents on every server. It provided a much-needed alternative for efficient log transport.

Significance

LSF proved the concept of a lightweight, Go-based shipper was viable and necessary, laying the groundwork and demonstrating the demand that Filebeat would ultimately fulfill and surpass.
