Original iPad Introduction

Steve Jobs introduces the original iPad, running a modified version of iPhone OS. It quickly becomes a cultural phenomenon, defining the tablet category for a generation.

Significance

This event established the iPad as a new computing category, creating the foundation upon which iPadOS would eventually be built. It also set the expectation, and later the limitation, of running a smartphone OS on a larger device.
