ParAccel was founded with a mission to develop a high-performance, massively parallel processing (MPP) columnar database for analytical workloads, becoming a leader in the nascent analytical database space.

Significance

ParAccel's technology and intellectual property would become the foundational core upon which Amazon Redshift was built, giving AWS a significant head start in this complex domain.
