ParAccel was founded with the vision of creating a high-performance, columnar database designed for analytical workloads, a technology that would later become foundational for Amazon Redshift.

Significance

Established the core intellectual property and architectural principles (columnar storage, MPP) that AWS would leverage to build its cloud data warehouse service.
