ParAccel, Inc. was founded by Barry Zane, Kim Stanfill, and Terry Martin, developing a high-performance, massively parallel processing (MPP) columnar database designed for analytic workloads.

Significance

The core technology developed by ParAccel became the foundational engine for Amazon Redshift, demonstrating the viability of MPP and columnar storage for big data analytics.
