ParAccel Founded

ParAccel Inc. was founded, beginning development on its high-performance columnar, massively parallel processing (MPP) database, which would later form the technological core of Amazon Redshift.

Significance

This laid the foundational technology, a proven analytical database engine, that AWS would acquire and adapt for the cloud.
