ParAccel Founded

ParAccel was founded by database veterans, including Barry Morris and Karen Steele, with the vision of creating a high-performance, columnar, massively parallel processing (MPP) database engine designed specifically for analytical workloads.

Significance

This laid the foundational technological groundwork for what would eventually become Amazon Redshift's core database engine. Without ParAccel's innovations, Redshift's rapid development would have been far more challenging.
