Project Red Dog Initiative

Following Ray Ozzie's "Internet Services Disruption" memo, Microsoft formally initiated "Project Red Dog," the internal codename for the development of its ambitious cloud computing platform.

Significance

This internal project was the foundational effort, bringing together engineering teams to design and build the massive global infrastructure and platform services that would eventually become Azure, marking Microsoft's deep commitment to the cloud.
