Swagger Framework Creation

Tony Tam, working at Wordnik, developed the initial version of Swagger as an internal project to simplify API documentation and client generation for their dictionary API.

Significance

This marked the birth of the core idea – a machine-readable specification for RESTful APIs – that would eventually become the OpenAPI Specification.
