Yugabyte Inc. Founded

Kannan Muthukkaruppan, Karthik Ranganathan, and Mikhail Bautin officially founded Yugabyte Inc. to build an open-source, distributed SQL database.

Significance

This marked the formal beginning of the YugabyteDB project, setting the foundation for the development of a new type of database addressing modern cloud challenges.
