Yugabyte Inc. Founded

Kannan Muthukkaruppan, Karthik Ranganathan, and Mikhail Bautin officially founded Yugabyte Inc., setting out to build a new generation of distributed SQL databases.

Significance

This marked the formal beginning of the YugabyteDB project, driven by a vision to democratize highly scalable, strongly consistent, and PostgreSQL-compatible transactional databases for the cloud-native era.
