- Apache Druid was created to solve the problem of performing interactive, low-latency analytical queries on massive, high-velocity datasets that traditional relational databases and data warehouses struggled with. Existing systems were either too slow for real-time use cases, couldn't handle the data volume and velocity, or were too complex and costly to operate at scale for interactive, user-facing analytics.
